What is a Winter Rental?
A winter rental is a holiday rental that takes place during the low season in Nerja, between the months of October-March. The typical term for a winter rental is between 3 and 6 months, and the cost is calculated per month, plus an additional payment for electricity. Winter rentals in Nerja are often considerably cheaper than in the summer, but still with many of the perks.
What should you consider when booking your Nerja Winter Rental?
If you’re used to booking a property in Nerja in the summer and know what you’re after – perhaps a nice view, good location, stylish furnishings – much of the same can be applied to making a winter rental booking. But of course, there are some additional things to consider which may not be obvious straight away. If you’re considering renting a property in Nerja over the winter and are unsure of what to look for when booking, read on to find out what you should bear in mind when choosing the right property for you.
One of the most important things to check is the most obvious: is the property you’re interested in available for winter rental? This is important to consider, as some owners do decide to return to their properties for the quieter, more peaceful winters. Always check the property is available, and if you’re ever unsure, don’t hesitate to contact us to clarify. It may also be worth considering whether the property has a history of winter rentals, if it does, it may be more well equipped for the cooler months. Also bear in mind that Nerja winter rentals do tend to get booked up early, so if you are planning on booking one it’s best to be organised and look well in advance.
Another thing to look for in your winter rental in Nerja is the amenities it offers. Aside from the usual essentials – comfy beds, decent wi-fi, good storage space (you’ll be there for a while!), some properties may be better geared up to living in the cooler months. Although the temperature in winter in Nerja rarely drops below 14°c and is regularly around a balmy 20°c, the nights can be a little chilly and so a property with central heating or under floor heating is worth considering. Likewise, if you like the water, a heated pool or jacuzzi is a real bonus!
Access is something else to look for when you research your Nerja winter rental. Will you rent a car while you’re in here and therefore need space for parking? Maybe you would like to avoid a property with lots of steps (or maybe you want the extra exercise!). Perhaps you would prefer to be closer to the hustle and bustle of the town, or somewhere with good transport links to make life easier. These are all vital things to consider when booking your winter rental in Nerja.
