La Herradura
La Herradura is one of the few remaining unspoilt villages on the Costa Tropical and offers a touch of the authentic Spain. The village of La Herradura ( named after the Horseshoe ) very appropriately named given the shape of the bay it overlooks and enjoys over 2 kilometres of beach.
At the eastern end of the bay is the scenic headland of Punta De La Mona and, to the west, the dramatic peninsular of Cerro Gordo. There is a wide range of water ports available from wind surfing and canoeing to paragliding and dingy sailing.
The town has a lovely quaint seafront promenade boasting all the essential shops, banks, services, restaurants and beachside cafes. Enjoy the local indoor and outdoor markets and the many local fruit and veg shops, not to mention the daily fresh fish catch.
There is a great choice of restaurants and tapas bars, ranging from beachfront chiringitos, specializing in locally caught fish, to those offering international cuisine.
